I visited Temptations in Halifax a week ago. I was enticed into the shop with the promise of 1/2 price DVDs, Upon entering I found a throwback to the 70's! This dark and moody shop stocked DVDs and videos that covered EVERY topic you could imagine at a price of £40 each or 3 for a £100. There were about 3000 titles to choose from.

The guy behind the counter wasn't a modern shop keeper but a surly guy  who offered me a Bully Boy Vibrator for £45 - no discount but he'd give me Free Batteries! I asked about the 50% discount and he told me the prices had been cut in half already.

I found a very strong German film and purchased it. Not a couple friendly adult outlet, just a seedy sex shop full of porn!

This store has a themed dungeon display area, and stocks a vast range of lingerie including the full Wild Designs range, we also stock a large range of fetish wear by Honour / Skin Too & a large range of leather / bondage wear & accesories made exclusively for our stores and unavailable anywhere else.

The store carries a large range of toys, pumps, aids, creams, lubricants etc and will attempt to get any item available upon request. We also stock approximately 500 R18 DVD's and will try and get any available film upon request.

This shop is amazing and the staff are fantastic and have managed to get almost any DVD I have asked for if its available. They have about 2000 DVDs always in stock and as is great because you are left totally alone to browse, toys are on display to try and help make your decision and the range of creams and lubes is amazing. Very brightly lit and whenever I have been there, a mixture of couples, men and women are there shopping. A great shop.

From the shop:

We actually stock about 1500 DVD's and 750 Video's in each store, we will endeavour however to get any R18 DVD for any customer and we do stock from every available distributor / wholesaler in the UK. We get approximately 50 New Release films every week. We also specialise in our range of magazines and 2000 or so toys, lubes, creams etc and likewise will endeavour to get any item a customer may want. We don't however stock a great amount of lingerie or novelties.

All our DVD's are £25-£30 and videos are £20-£25 with discounts available for multiple buys. We exchange DVDs for £10 within 7 days of purchase or £15 thereafter. We have weekly special offers and all out staff are trained and knowledgeable with regards to our products. We pride ourselves on being clean, brightly lit and "female" friendly and also carry a large range of gay DVDs.

We also have a film club whereby we give a free DVD to regular customers who have purchased 5 DVD's, this doesn't require any personal information, simply a password specific to that individual customer. This is a loyalty club. we do after all appreciate and reward our regular customers as many would testify.

SA Lingerie has won a national competition, Pimp My Shop, a competition run amongst readers of the adult trade magazine, ETO.

Speaking shortly after hearing about the win, Wendy Stevenson, owner of SA Lingerie was delighted: It is an amazing opportunity for us, the new products that will make up some of the prize will be fantastic, giving more choice to our customers, also the advice that we will receive will certainly put us in good steed when it comes to opening our second shop, in Stevenage, North Herts in the next couple of weeks.

Along with new products and a new shop counter for the Hertford store Wendy also intends to use this chance to re-brand her shop to SWALK Adult Store, showing our customers that we supply not only lingerie but all adult toys, novelties and dvds and perhaps a little bit of a trip down memory lane for all those that remember using the phrase SWALK for their loved ones!!

This is a good sized, one-stop shop in Hitchin and offers a very relaxed shopping environment with excellent advice available from the shop manager.

The store has an excellent range of sex toys, games and novelties along with a good assortment of lingerie, stockings and uniforms.

The store has a separate film department, which is DVD heaven with over 2,000 XXX DVDS. The DVDs are very competitively priced and Pulse & Cocktails offers an excellent exchange system on all films. There is also a good selection of XXX books and magazines that are unsealed and very competitively priced.

Whilst not licensed we do sell a whole range of sextoys, adult magazines We also sell PVC and Corsetry made locally art Axfords in Brighton.

Primarily we are specialists in the transgender item.

The shop is new only 10 weeks old the cinema club has been here for 22 years. We have a large stock instore approx 300 titles in Video and dvd with a further 500 titles to order 7 Days turnaround. The cinema club shows R18 videos.

Situated on the main road into Hull from York, this store has been licensed since July 2003.

We offer a huge range of adult toys from the U.S., The Netherlands and the U.K. all at reasonable prices. We are strong believers in branding and have taken steps to ensure that our stores are visually appealing to all members of society, we feel our image is among the best out there.
