Good parking outside the front, very well laid out, clean, airy and great stock of R18 video/DVD, all sorts of toys, clothing etc.

They cater for all manner of tastes and their pleasant and helpful staff that make you feel comfortable.

There's a gritty honesty to the signage and no window display. Inside, I'm sorry to say, things were equally gritty almost to the point of abrasion.

A hand written sign saying "if you open mags, you've bought them" sets the tone.

They have a fair spread of R18 DVDs which were £20-30, £20 for cash, two for £30 & three for £40 which seemed a good deal.

I recently shopped here for an outfit to wear to the Rocky Horror Show. Having decided to dress as Frank-N-Furter, I felt completely at ease walking through the doors into the well lit room. I think I happened to be served by the owner, who was very helpful and had a thorough search for the best value purchases and gave a little package-discount even though there was already a sale on.

I would completely recommend anyone wishing to get something that little different to have a look here. Happy shopping!

The window display was rather higgledy-piggledy but interesting and colourful enough to draw the eye. From the outside it looks huge but it's perhaps only 10 feet wide.

The DVDs ranged from £30 to £40. (2 for £75, 3 for £100). There was also a buy 3 for £70 or 6 for £100 deal on cheaper titles.

As a regular visitor to this store I have to agree with Tony. This shop is great, something for everyone, from outfits to a women's size 26 to the hardcore DVDs/videos on which they do great deals. As a woman I find the atmosphere non-threatening – they're staff are friendly and approachable and as a refreshing change, not all male. For the shy women out there, my advice is to go on a Thursday when there are two women behind the counter. There is always some leniency on price – they will try to get you the best for your money, so don't be afraid to ask for a deal on multiple items. Happy shopping!

There is a really large sex shop in Cardiff called Lovecraft, it's a licensed shop and they sell hardcore videos and magazines, as well as lots of toys and clothing. My self and my husband were not at all embarrassed to go in, it's bright and the staff are friendly, and prices are very reasonable.

Although they have an extensive selection of dvds/vids/mags and toys they are pretty expensive e.g; vids are 35 quid and dvds are fifty...

The store was well presented. Offers clothing, sex toys, lubes, magazines and good selection of R18 DVD's.

Movies are all sorted by genre and priced at 25 pound each.

The shop has enough choice to make the even most picky porn loving person happy.

Staff

The pretty lady working in the store was very friendly and chatty. She asked if I had been in before and knew about the return deal and also offered her advice if I needed any.

If you buy any DVD you can return the movie anytime and exchange it for another one for just 10 pound. Found this a good idea as Porn Movies don't last forever.

Some Sex Shops have an uncomfortable atmosphere but Utopia was relaxed and welcoming.

Never visited this store before and would suggest anyone local to the area pay a visit

I have used this shop a couple of times. It's trading name is Darker Enterprises.

They have a great selection of films and magazines covering pretty much any and every taste.

They also have a wide range of lubes, dolls, bondage toys and sex toys, including fists/hands, vibrators, dildo's, anal beads, double enders, glass dildo's and butt plugs. Some of the dildo's are huge. They didn't have any really thick / wide butt plugs, various sizes and inflatable ones, but not a wide one for a good stretch!

Staff were very friendly and discrete, making sure that you have what you need for a fun time.

This newly refurbished and good sized, one-stop shop in Cheltenham offers a very relaxed shopping environment with excellent advice available from the shop manager.

The store has an excellent range of sex toys, games and novelties along with a good assortment of lingerie, stockings and uniforms.

The store has a separate film department, which is DVD heaven with over 2,000 XXX DVDS. The DVDs are very competitively priced and Pulse & Cocktails offers an excellent exchange system on all films. There is also a good selection of XXX books and magazines that are unsealed and very competitively priced.

I visited this store today for the first time. I will be going back!

The shop is not large, but is bright and airy and has space for a wide range of toys, games and potions. A couple of walls are covered in DVDs and videos with what looked like a wide range.

The female assistant was very helpful in choosing a DVD that my wife would like, as well as a couple of small  toys.

She was happy to chat about the range and pointed out some bargains, as well as one or two of her favorites that my wife might like to try.

Nice 'n' Naughty opened its first store in Chester on 31st August 1999. The shop's management has spent the 15 years modernising its image and making for an attractive and enjoyable shopping experience.

The store now boasts a colourful shop front and sponsorship agreements with local football, cricket and netball teams. Managing director Simon Prescott  told the Leader:

I never would have thought of myself as a pioneer when we challenged Chester City Council's view in 2001 that adult stores should have blacked out windows, it just seemed right we be allowed to put mannequins on display. In reality Nice 'n' Naughty set a new trend, which was not only followed by our other stores, but many of those in the industry.

The policy has worked well and the firm has expanded to 11 stores from Brighton to Newcastle.

  Reader Review: Best customer service

We have been visiting the shop now for some time and have to say of any shop anywhere Nice N naughty have by far the best customer service anywhere. Our first visit will remain with us for years to come. We were after a vibrator and having walked in and spent sometime looking at the extensive range of available products were at a loss as to what to go for. It was our first visit and a little apprehensive as to what to expect. We were approached by a young lady (Trish) who then spent ages explaining each and every product to myself and Girlfriend. At no point were we pressured into spending hundreds of pounds and we felt we would have been as much thought of and received just as much attention if we had wanted just advice. Since then we have visited this shop many many times and the service has just got better. It's so far removed from the stereo typical sex shop it has to be visited to be believe.

If only all sex shops were this good, mind you I am glad they are not, because that's what sets Nice N Naughty aside and makes it such a pleasure to go. Thanks for a great service, a great range of products and best of all the best dedication to your customers we have ever encountered.

At the time of licence renewal the Private Shop requested to open on Sundays. But following an article in the Chester Chronicle, the request was withdrawn.

Private also asked to be able to keep its front door open to signal that the shop is open for business. This request was granted

Only one objection to the shop's renewal was received and the licence was duly granted.

  Review

Visited the new Private shop in Chester at 53 Brook Street an excellent selection of videos/dvd's and toys. Again clean bright fresh smelling and well stocked, to be honest I was surprised to see it was owned by Private. Videos /dvd's are a little more expensive than Nice 'n' Naughty just up the street, but Private have a much better selection of non R18. The guy behind the counter was friendly but unobtrusive.

Despite light wood floors and white walls, the shop felt a little dingy.

Hardcore magazines were awkwardly displayed beside the counter.

With close-by on road free parking and a fine position, it's a shame more hadn't been made of this fair-sized shop's potential.
