The local council have agreed that Adult World can stay open from 10am to 10pm Mondays to Saturdays, and from noon until 8pm on Sundays including bank holidays, but excluding Christmas Day, Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

They also agreed that the opaque film on the window could be removed, and window displays permitted, as long as they involve non-adult merchandise only. General goods must be located at the front of the shop, with the adult area and the general goods areas clearly defined.

Club 487 has opened its doors for business again pending a licensing appeal against the council decision to revoked the club's licence. The appeal is set for July 2016. In the meantime the cinema offers:

In a council meeting on October 20 councillors deemed the basement was being used as a sex cinema and R18 movies were being screened, something which needed a further license. Councillor Janet Daby said:

We expect all licensed businesses in Lewisham to operate responsibly and to comply with licencing conditions. Club 487 clearly flouted these and the consequence was the loss of their licence.

  News June 2015: License Approved...BUT...

The council nominally approved a sex cinema licence but stipulated that only softcore 18 rated films can be shown. Hardcore R18s are not allowed. The council also required CCTV to made available covering all rooms of the cinema.

Only slightly more expensive than Harmony, but if anything seemed to have a better selection of some things. The staff were friendly and the shop light and airy. Also, for people who might appreciate that sort of thing, the front entrance to the shop is for an ordinary bargain bookshop. It's only when you look in the back corner that you see there are stairs to an adult section too.

The Croydon shop has a wide range of toys, costumes and other goodies. But is run by an up tight woman that looks down her nose at you whilst your shopping around. She has no product knowledge at all and from the attitude of her and her staff would rather be working at a supermarket. The shop is dirty and unorganised it looks like the gift shop at Godstone farm. they should be added to this list just purely to warn others of the lack of service and the general feel of uneasiness.

The Croydon shop is small but pretty comprehensive selection of toys, but a little pricey.  Relaxed atmosphere and pleasant, helpful staff.

The Crystal Palace shop has a room above that they let for £25 an hour, minimum 2 hours, with some basic bondage frames to play with.

Prowler in Soho has been nominated for the Best Individual Store in the 2010 Erotic Trade Only Awards:

Prowler's hugely impressive Soho branch was described by ETO's Mystery Shopper several years ago as looking 'very handsome, with its neon signs and subtle window presentation'.

Prowler Soho was established 5 years ago as a completely different concept from existing gay stores. The huge windows are filled with daring displays - themes this year have included 'Hampstead Heath', Cottaging with George Michael and 'Peep Show', complete with moving screens.

Inside the shop sells fashion, underwear, books, CDs and homewares at the front, with an entrance at the back to the Blue Room. This room is probably the smartest sex shop in London, with a range of around 300 gay videos and DVDs, imported toys and magazines.

A separate till point within this room allows for discreet purchasing. All videos and DVDs are licensed, high-quality first generation and are generally £29.99 for both formats. Friendly, well-trained staff are always on hand to advise.

Prowler Soho is fully licensed.

They're a spin-off from the She-An-Me fetish shop in Hammersmith. It's a small shop but with good range of lingerie and fetish wear, decent selection of toys and some Videos and DVDs - I'm fairly sure I saw hardcore on display there. The bloke in the shop was very obliging and the prices reasonable.

After a battle with the local council, TLC 48 Windsor Street Uxbridge was granted a licence last October, a small intimate shop that stocks a large range of lingerie, boxed rubber wear and a range of PVC. In the front section of the shop they stock the lingerie etc, alongside a good selection of adult novelties and party gifts. To the middle section they have a selection of shoes and thigh boots that are made to order. A large selection of stockings (often not found elsewhere) and the rear section is devoted to an excellent range of Adult toys, R18 DVD and Video. They also have a good selection of leather bondage wear.
