It's traditional for highbrow critics to feign ennui in the face of pornography. Well I ain't highbrow: I be dumb. As such, I don't mind admitting I didn't find Dr Screw boring. No. I found it morbidly fascinating.
What got me was this: the pornstar cast are clearly having genuine sex - yet thanks to our hopeless censorship laws both they and the programme's editors are forced to perform a bizarre game of muckypup peek-a-boo as they do so.
The end result is a nonsensical compromise. It's OK to see an erect penis, apparently, but you can't see it penetrating anything... except sometimes you sort of can. Cunnilingus is shown in fairly explicit detail, while blowjobs are hidden behind
cupped hands or strategically-posed thighs... except sometimes they're sort of not. It's like an orgy that can't decide how rude it wants to be.
I'm not complaining - just baffled. These regulations seem inherently pointless, like the American public drinking law that leads winos to swig cans of beer from within brown paper bags. At the end of the day, they're still winos, still in public,
still drinking beer. So what's the point?
Protection, presumably. Yet since the show is broadcast on a restricted-access post-watershed channel requiring PIN code entry (and a payment) to view, then who, precisely, are we protecting? The mugs prepared to pay to watch it? That's so circular
it makes my head spin.

With regards to Playboy/Adult channel/Spice etc. So much harder now than they used to be. They are much much harder than TelevisionX but still endless repeats and of course not hardcore. Still I appreciate the fact they are not at all scared of
showing erections and male genital contact. The woman are much better looking too. They still play the same game of showing the same episode on different nights with different censorship levels. Their editors must be busy.

Having had the Private Spice card for a couple of months, I have to say that the boat is still out. For me, the card does not compare favourably with the Inxworld card.
On one hand, Spice does seem to have the best picture quality, but not that far ahead of Dorcel TV.
The variety of material is good, covering the mainstream to the fetish. But when pitted against the 5 channel Inxworld card, Spice's variety starts to look less varied - sooner or later that same type of material will crop up on the Inxworld
channels.
Again, given it's european background, Spice features a lot of euro-style porn, which for me is a bit of a put off. Lots of beautiful scenery, samey looking euro-girls and almost autocue acting don't really float my boat.

Spice Platinum has lost it's battle with French law and has now stopped broadcasting 24 hours per day. Shows in the UK start at 11pm til 5am. The TP has also changed to 19011V encryption type TPSAES keys updated every 20 minutes. Unless you can get
Auto Update or Card Sharing.
It would seem that the time restrictions may only apply to the French TPS feed for this channel

Private spice under some sort of new management have made a number of changes as well as the condom advert. They now broadcast three 8 hour shifts as opposed to the original four 6 hour shifts.

Overall, I think that Private Spice is a very welcome improvement over Spice Platinum, which was already quite good anyway – If they could only reduce the number of repeats
Out of interest, what resolution & bitrates do other people’s receivers show on this channel – the picture quality is the best of any HC channel I have seen (although, to be fair, most of the others range from OK to dreadful!) , but it doesn’t
look like full DVD quality, IMO.

My first real acquaintance with hardcore satellite TV was with a French channel named Rendez-Vous TV. From an age when adult channels always seemed to be teetering on the brink of bankruptcy, Rendez-Vous TV lasted a fairly long time. I always has a
soft spot for the presenter Zara Whites who so fluently explained to English, French and Italian speaking customers that outages were temporary and that full service would be resumed in the coming weeks.
So when I popped in a new viewing card to get reacquainted with French satellite TV, it was good to see Zara Whites starring in the first film that I sat down to watch.
The channel is Dorcel TV and it is the satellite arm of the long running French porn production company, Video Marc Dorcel (VMD). The company woodpecker logo has been the mark of good quality porn for as long as I can remember.
It may be worth mentioning that although everything about Dorcel TV is essentially French, the small print reveals that the channel is actually licensed in the Netherlands. (Coincidentally my favourite 'French' actress Zara Whites, was actually Dutch
born).
Dorcel TV is based upon VMD's extensive stock of good quality hardcore. The actresses are generally well known and production qualities are high. Typically the films are set in a rich man's world. French mansions and chateaus provide the setting for
many a VMD film.
The Dorcel TV schedules also include a fair number of magazine style programmes, again concentrating on the glamourous side of life. Perhaps Jet Sex is the most obvious example. There are also porn star bios and 'Making Of' programmes.
The French adult industry seems a little more enthusiastic than most. The industry maintains an almost Hollywood style publicity machine with star appearances, an industry magazine, Hot, and the publication of top selling DVD charts. Possibly the
hype contributes to anticipation of new titles and generates a little more interest in following the latest starlets. This enthusiasm tends to just add a little something and elevates French movies to being amongst the best in Europe.
It is also good that VMD haven't followed the American lead in featuring overly contorted grimacing, as if slutty expressions makes for good porn. VMD use attractive actresses and more naturalistic acting. Certainly works better for this particular
reviewer.
Technically, Dorcel TV seems to broadcast with sufficient bandwidth to avoid distractions due to excess compression. So given the good quality of the original, the broadcast quality is also good. English language versions of the films are generally
used.
The channel broadcasts hardcore 24 hours a day. There are occasional advert breaks in films with about 3 minutes of phone sex ads at a time. All films are broadcast with complete titles and credits. Films generally start at odd times and there is no
attempt to start films at regular times such as on the hour.
It is interesting that the permanent on screen age warning is 16 rather than the 18 Brits may expect. At first this almost seemed a little off putting in that it may indicate something less than full hardcore. But do not worry, the channel features
real hardcore and goes a little beyond what the British Board of Film Classifiers would prefer you not to see, even at R18. The British film censor routinely cuts some of the rough sex elements that Dorcel TV broadcasts.
The channel has a good website at www.dorcel.tv which includes up to date programming details. There is also an option to watch Dorcel TV via the internet with good value options for a range of subscription periods.
All in all, a very good channel which provides remarkable value considering that it is included in some low cost satellite packages. Possibly the glamourous settings are a bit over used and therefore the channel probably works better as part of a
package. This then provides the variety that Dorcel TV lacks as a standalone channel.
Dorcel TV surely outclasses and is outlasting my old Rendez-Vous TV. But I must admit to a few fond nostalgic memories of Rendez-Vous. I wonder if Laetitia and her wonderful cast of amateur nurses are still going strong in France?

Redlight Premium was reviewed as part of the Elite TV package.
Redlight Premium mainly features a mix of US and Italian hardcore. The programming will be familiar to viewers of Euro hardcore satellite but the programme buyers have selected well, and the channel is well worth watching.
Technically, all the Elite TV channels were broadcast with sufficient bandwidth to avoid distractions due to excess compression. Maybe this is something that viewers may assume, but some of the competing packages broadcast at much worse bit-rates.
The channels broadcast hardcore 24 hours a day. There are adverts but these are not excessive. Films generally start at odd times and there is no attempt to start films at regular times such as on the hour.
All in all, a very good package covering a wide range of programming which provides remarkable value considering the low cost subscription.

TVX Amateur ceased broadcasting towards the end of June 2012. That leaves just the 2 channels, TVX and TVX Brits in the Xcellence package.
In April, after over 3 years of an increasing number of repeats, schedules nothing like shown on the SKY EPG and the availability of better content on the Net, I cancelled my TVX subscription by registered post with a cancellation date 6 weeks from
the date of the letter.
Lo and behold, my credit card was charged in June for June - July. I obtained a Proof of Delivery from the Royal Mail for the registered letter and sent all the details to the credit card company. A refund was arranged.
I've just had my bill for July. There, large as life, is yet another charge from Portland Enterprises (TVX).
On contacting the credit card company again they told me that, given the process is automated, they have to charge the card and I will have to apply for credit each month.
As far as I'm concerned, given the subscription was cancelled and a signature received for the letter, the charge appearing on my card is THEFT. No doubt the credit card company will get sick of my calls in time and do something about the situation
but, until they do or the people at Portland Enterprises stop stealing from my credit card company, I will have to spend time ringing for the credit each month, and pay the figure on the card statement as the credit cannot be deducted until the
following month's statement.
Thank you Portland Enterprises. Presumably you wish to give the adult industry a bad name.
I STRONGLY SUGGEST anyone tempted to join TVX thinks very hard before giving them a credit card number which they will take as a licence to print money in perpetuity.

Why oh why didn't I listen to the sound words offered by trusted melon farmers contributors..I stupidly subscribed to Television X thinking that surely there would be something on any 1 of the 4 channels at sometime or other. WRONG.. absolute rubbish
on all 4, including some seriously awful and scary stuff on TVX2. I have not found any single programme that offers anything which might be considered more erotic than earwax... learn from my mistake and avoid at all costs.
TVX4 - Endless US rubbish films. Could be the same film for the same-ness of it all.
TVX3 - Freeview then a 20 minute live show followed by repeats of previous live shows.
TVX2 - Scary! Mainly amateur videos, many featuring some seriously old and fat women (I kid you not). If the program description mentions 'over 18s' are involved then that often means over 18 stone!
TVX1 - The only one worth watching but like them all, far too many 10 minute freeview interruptions.
IMHO, the freeviews and website promise far more the station actually delivers. Most of the descriptions (off the 'i' button) are scandalously inaccurate and bear little relation to the program itself.
As for hardcore, you get the occasional 'slip' and see a little more, but this is probably just a teaser to make you think it gets better. It doesn't.

As well as English, German and French (all with English audio) football coverage and some fairly recent Hollywood fare the Albanian package now has a dedicated 24 hour hardcore porn channel.
Channel X shows the classier side of porn with some tasteful output from Private and some US producers. Channel X previously showed softcore Playboy stuff throughout the day. If your lucky you may not see the same film in 24 hours. If you like
Private then your in luck as they show a wide range from their massive output including stuff like Tanya Hyde.
Around 10:45pm (UK time) until 4am each night Channel X is joined by two other channels (DigitAlb 7 and 8) showing similar stuff. Films have English audio and no subtitles on the hardcore output.
With the bonus of mainstream films and football this is a pretty good package.
Seems to be quite popular. Their downside is that they are not 24/7 and they only show one or two titles a night and with many repeats.

I have had a legitimate ABsat card which is for the bouquet of about a dozen channels on Hotbird. The package includes XXL which is on every day from 9pm to about 2 am. from 9 to 11 its softcore (French 16 rated) and from 11 there are 2 hardcore
films every night. As far as I can tell, each film is repeated once in the month's schedule.
The hardcore is French 18 rated which is hardcore as you and I would understand it. Sometimes the quality is excellent and sometimes poor. This depends entirely on the original material which comes from a variety of sources and countries, including
American films and those Italian costume dramas with 2 dozen actors on set.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. You don't have to watch the other French programmess but I enjoy them.
