The US release is cut and MPAA Unrated for:
The two controversial episodes titled 200 and 201 have at least been included, but censored as per the latest TV version. Originally the religious figure of Mohammed was depicted as a teddy bear when shown in episode 200. After kicking off a bit of a fuss, in the second part, 201, all shots of the character were obscured by a black silhouette marked CENSORED. Every mention of Mohammed was also bleeped out. The two part episode in question features a typically convoluted plotline in which Tom Cruise (previously pilloried as gay and for being a scientologist) rounds up 200 other celebrities who have been targets of the show's satire in order to launch a class-action defamation suit against the town of South Park. Cruise also wrangles Muhammad into his scheme, secretly motivated by a desire to harness the prophet's goo , which grants immunity to ridicule. Throughout, Muhammad is dressed in a bear suit, an ironic nod to the prohibition on showing images of Islam's founding father. and the blasphemy accusation against a British teacher in Sudan who let her class of kids name a teddy bear Mohammed. |

Spetters

117:21s |
1980 Netherlands drama by Paul Verhoeven. With Hans van Tongeren, Renée Soutendijk and Toon Agterberg.
The Director's Cut was passed 18 uncut with BBFC cuts waived for:
The US release is uncut and MPAA Unrated for:
The BBFC commented:
Review from US Amazon : Saucy Holland Days Spetters (a Dutch slang term for male ejaculate) remains the in-your-face director's most audacious and fascinating work to date. Popular in Holland but largely ignored upon its initial U.S. release, the film has slowly built a cult following over the years, thanks to word-of-mouth amongst film buffs and some critical backpedalling due to Verhoven's subsequent box-office successes. Following the hormone-fueled misadventures (from comedic to tragic) of a trio of motocross-obsessed teenage pals and thier girlfriends, the film is a sort of Dutch take on Saturday Night Fever or Quadrophenia with a pinch of social satire tossed in. The young (mostly unknown) principal players all deliver energetic, superb performances and are ably supported by Jeroen Krabbe and Rutger Hauer. The MGM DVD thankfully restores the 8 minutes of "graphic" sexuality (not really that shocking to Europeans) that was excised in order to earn an "R" rating and make the film more palatable to our "puritan" American tastes. |

Spider-man
|
Spider-man is a 2002 USA action fantasy by Sam Raimi. Starring Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst and Willem Dafoe.
Never cut but had a profound effect on UK film censorship at the 12 level. The BBFC originally gave the film a 12 rating but this was unpopular as under 12 were banned. Several councils overruled the BBFC with a PG rating. The BBFC responded by inventing the 12A which allowed younger children to watch the film if accompanied by adults. Summary Notes

The BBFC passed the International Extended Version/Spiderman 2.1 in 2007 uncut on Blu-ray
Thanks to Byron:
The UK Blu-ray of Spider-man 2 is uncut with the headbutt in tact that the BBFC cut in 2004. Sony has used the US disc to master the UK disc. This can be seen by the PG-13 rating before the film starts and the US copyright warnings. With HD there is
no NTSC or PAL issues so (in this case thankfully) lazy film studios can just use their US masters as HD is 24 frames per second the world over.
Spider-man 2 on Blu-ray also comes with Spider-man 2.1 and can only be brought as a box set trilogy
with films 1 and 3.

The IMAX cinema version was passed 12A in 2004
From the BBFC
website: IMAX
When classifying a film for cinema release the Board carefully considers the impact of the special effects and sound track on the likely audience. In the case of SPIDER-MAN 2 the Board believes that the huge screens and
powerful sound systems in IMAX cinemas, designed to deliver an intense cinematographic experience, mean that some young children may find the film more 'scary' than they would if they saw it at a 'traditional' cinema.
The '12A' rating does not mean that young fans cannot see the film as children under 12 years of age can see a '12A' rated film if they are accompanied by an adult. The '12A' rating for IMAX cinemas is designed to help parents with young or sensitive children to make sure that their trip to the cinema is not a distressing experience. |

Spirited Away
|
uncut |
Japanese anime by Hayao Miyazaki
The main feature is uncut but the DVD extras have been causing confusion as pointed out by Anthony:
In the PG-rated Optimum Releasing release from 2004, the extra bonus feature The Making Of Spirited Away : Nippon TV Special had 7 seconds cut to remove the following subtitles just over 16 minutes into the documentary, in which
one of Miyazaki's animators' dialogue is translated as Haven't you finished yours yet, boss?' to which Miyazaki's subtitled reply is Fuck! I'm working my arse off here! . The footage is still there, as is the spoken Japanese dialogue and
Japanese subtitles, but the two lines of dialogue lose those English subtitles. |

US: Uncut and MPAA Unrated for:
The BBFC had few qualms in passing it uncut for sale in the UK with the following justification (reproduced from one of the newsgroups) : The content of the film is in fact very mild and poorly executed. If anything, it was the title of the film and its original packaging that led to difficulties, rather than the content. The idea of the film may, of course, be offensive to some but that is not a good enough reason to cut or reject it. We would only cut or reject a film for adults if the content was illegal or harmful. SS Experiment Camp is neither illegal or harmful, just tasteless. The uncut region 2 DVD should have been available in Feb 2006, BUT due to some unfortunate mistake in production, the film actually release was a 1981 soft porn film, Love Camp, starring Laura Gemser. Sorted by the reissue in April 2006. |

Summary Review : Achtung! Cheese Alert! Top Nazi officials, intent on rooting out traitors and those in the military who may be plotting to overthrow Adolf Hitler, recruit and train a group of beautiful prostitutes whose mission is to use any means necessary to uncover plots against the Fuhrer. A heaped platter of cheesy chuckles served up by a harem of naked Euro-sluts. Other than running about 10 minutes too long (director Bruno Mattei, who also co-scripted, tacks on a pointless soliloquy by a minor character near the end), SS GIRLS hits all the right Eurotrash notes. There's oodles of female nudity (with some lesbianism and S&M in the mix), a number of scenes in very bad taste (that thankfully don't get TOO revolting), and loads of unintentional humor. |
