Summary Review: Bizarre

An erotic story of a girl who gets sent to a school where a dangerous criminal lives and rapes the girls after playing little dress up games.

If you're looking for a simple spanking flick, you're going to be disappointed by the plot and all the digressions. But if you're more of a polymorphous pervert, this has straight sex scenes, lots of lesbianism, and interesting shower scenes where gaggles of naked girls climb en masse in and out of a single tub while their fellow students or the elderly caretakers pours water (or milk?!) on them.

There's a tasteless scene where a girl is made to strip and act like a dog, but it's mostly tasteless because she's a Jewish girl whose parents have disappeared without paying her tuition, leaving her to be singled out for extra abuse.

There's also a downright bizarre chariot-racing scene with some of the girls having to be the horses complete with whips and bridles.

Worth the money.

Infamous exploitation movie supposedly mixing hardcore, bestiality and a bizarre subplot about the making of torture and snuff movies.

Joe D Amato had this to say about those scenes...we shot the 'snuff' scenes in 35mm. Afterwards we scratched the negative and we printed it as 8mm, then blew it up to give it the illusion of reality... I don't know people think it is real, it's just some bullshit.. it's only a movie, you know?

Joe D'Amato was asked how the rumor about the snuff footage being "real" got started and he had this to say:...we shot that footage in a warehouse with a lot of "extras" (actors). One of the girls in the scene wanted to make more money then she was making as an extra, so she filed a lawsuit saying that she was really abused during the filming....

Needless to say that with an entire film crew as witness to the fake acting, she lost the case. However, the rumour managed to circulate as truth.

Summary Review: Brutal Nights

Joe D'Amatos Emanuelle in America is one of the most notorious Italian sleaze epics ever. The story is about journalist Laura Gemser seeking out sensational news. She encounters a woman who loves horses, stays with a couple in Venice who hold big orgies, a hotel where old women pay for the services of willing men and a senator who likes snuff movies.

Director D'Amato leaves nothing to the imagination with some hardcore sex (mostly softcore), very disturbing snuff gore footage of women being tortured and the most famous scene a woman getting intimate with a horse!. If you like extreme sleaze cinema this film is a must see.

Summary Review: Box office success

Emmanuelle, released in 1974 was the first soft core porn movie to achieve major box office success, and this after the French government tried to have it banned. With utter predictability this ensured the film was an overnight success in it's native France, and it also went on to triumph in the USA where it was marketed as an art house movie.

Directed by Just Jaeckin, who also directed The Story Of O the movie features some truly eye catching cinematography using the exotic Thai locations and the performance of the striking natural beauty Kristel is surprisingly good.

As soft-core porn Emmanuelle is probably as good as you will see. Judged purely as a piece of cinema it's not that great but most people will view it purely as the former so it does it's job very well.

Summary Review: A very erotic soapy massage

Emmanuelle returns to her husband in Hong Kong and proceeds to have several extramarital affairs -- with his knowledge, of course. Her husband's lover and American guest are both very puzzled by their openness.

Emmannuelle films are burdened with ponderous, annoying pretentiousness, and the audience must sit through way too much boring down-time between sex scenes that tend to tease more than satisfy.

However this episode features the lovely Catherine Rivet and it is well worthwhile sitting through the stodge  for the very erotic soapy massage.

Summary Review : Falls Flat

With a cast that included Dyanne Thorne, Uschi Digard, Monica Gayle, and Vincene Wallace, this film should have been far more erotic than it was. Very disappointing.

The sex scenes, the few that there are in this film, are cut way too short and should have been extended a lot more than they were. Since they aren't, the film kind of falls flat on the erotic front and that's too bad considering the talent especially in front of the camera.

Summary Review : More Funny than Filthy

British '70's sex comedies tended not to be particularly sexy or particularly funny. This one at least picked a direction and aimed to be funny.

The plot briefly is a young film school graduate is hired to make a version of the infamous poem Eskimo Nell. Eventually the conman producer (Roy Kinnier) has them making 3 versions, a hardcore porn version, a kung fu musical and a gay western to which is later added a wholesome family film.

There's occasional nudity (largely female) most of which is pretty much incidental far more interesting and fun are the glimpses we get of the three films.

The cast is pretty solid, made up of British TV regulars like Christopher Timothy and Katy Manning (Dr Who star who keeps her clothes on).

Summary Review: French Success

This is a documentary about French porno star Claudine Beccarie, the original containing several staged hardcore scenes.

Jean-Francois Davy's motivation was noble he really tried to present his subject as a fully rounded human being who just happened to be working in the sex industry. The result was a huge commercial hit in France where it played regular cinemas packed to capacity, before the 1976 X -law relegated it to more specialized venues until 1983 when Minister of Culture Jack Lang removed the X-rating which enabled Davy to re-release the film with added footage, again with great success.
