Chained Heat is a 1983 USA / West Germany action crime thriller by Paul Nicholas
(as Paul Nicolas). Starring Linda Blair, John Vernon and Sybil Danning.
Summary Review: Suitably Over the
Top
Linda Blair plays Carol, a young woman who must serve 18 months in prison after killing a man (by accident). The prison turns out to be brimming with decadence, corruption and sleaze, where the other female
inmates are sadistic crack-selling lesbian rapists and the guards and warden are no better. Racial tensions are high as the inmates is divided into two factions, blacks and whites, who must either join together against the management or kill each other
trying. A sleazy blend of sexploitation and blaxploitation make this movie a real winner.
A fine example of women in prison films noted for the presence of Linda Blair (who reckoned she was duped into accepting the part).
Otherwise it has over the top performances of warders mistreating inmates, plenty of catfights and enough nudity to pep up the action.

There are two brief cuts, one extraneous and unnecessary (the

viewer's regard for that character and anyone closely associated with her, and that is what was cut.

Evan Rachel Wood co-stars with Shia LaBeouf in Charlie Countryman , an indie drama that earned an R-rating
from the Motion Picture Association of America because of some brutal violence, language throughout, sexuality/nudity, and drug use. According to Wood, however, an early MPAA ruling forced director Fredrik Bond to sanitize a key sex scene in order
to avoid an adults-only NC-17.
Wood took to Twitter to admonish members of the ratings board for their stance on female sexuality, noting that the scene in question was cut down because it showed a male performing oral sex on his
female partner.
There was supposed to be some controversy with the sex scene that Evan Rachel Wood was all up in arms about, that the MPAA ordered to cut out Charlie performing oral sex on her to get an R-rating.
I'm kind of glad they did, because Shia is really hairy and grimy and that just wouldn't be hot at all watching this dude that's been wearing the same clothes for almost 48 hours have sex. I mean the whole double standard of men vs women getting oral sex
on screen is a bit outrageous, but removing it had no effect on the scene whatsoever.

The plausible explanation that the film was cut for a PG-13 rating has never been confirmed, but a few internet commenters have agreed that the UK cinema version contains a little more violence than is present on worldwide video. From IMDb:
The UK cinema version is the most complete version of the film to date, featuring additional scenes of violence. Additional footage includes:
louder impact sounds during the fight scenes with added bass, particularly during the alley fight (the impact sounds are much tamer on all video and DVD releases)
the use of nunchaku during the closing fight
on the castle (the fight sequence now has no footage of nunchaku)
an elbow-lock move performed during the above fight (this is now cut from all versions)
It is assumed that this version is the cut of the film made before trims were made to it for the MPAA to secure a PG-13 rating.

The BBFC commented:
This film was originally sent to the BBFC at the script stage. Based on a reading of the script the BBFC informed the company that the film was generally likely to fall within the desired 15 classification. However the company were advised that some scenes had the potential to take the film to
18 , or be otherwise problematic, dependent on how they were shot. In particular the BBFC advised that scenes featuring child actors should not be filmed in such a way as to sexualise the performers. It was also advised that scenes featuring
suicides should be kept discreet and that novel detail which could be copied should be avoided. In a couple of cases the company were advised that specific lines of sexual dialogue should be removed or changed for the 15 classification.
A version of the film was subsequently submitted to the BBFC prior to formal submission and most recommendations from the original script had been addressed.
On formal submission of the finished
version the changes remained evident and the film was classified 15 .
The BBFC explained their 15 rating:
Chatroom is a drama about a group of teenagers who meet on an online forum. The film was passed 15
for a suicide theme and strong sex references.
The film deals with the dangers of online interaction, especially relating to vulnerable individuals. It deals with subjects such as bullying and sexual predators
targeting the young, as well as websites and forums that showcase and promote suicide. There are scenes that feature a girl jumping out of a window, a young boy taking a drug overdose after he has been the victim of online bullying and another teenager
hanging himself. However, none of these sequences linger on the fate of the victims or offer novel instructional detail. Furthermore, the film depicts the deaths as shocking and offers a critique of the malign influences that caused them. There is also a
scene in which one of the leading characters deliberately cuts himself in the arm but this is contextualised by the audience knowing that he has a history of self-harming, which points to his mental state and explains his actions in the film's narrative.
Again, no undue detail is presented and this, as well as the suicide scenes, meet the requirements of the BBFC Guidelines at 15 which state that dangerous behaviour (for example, hanging, suicide and self-harming) should not dwell on detail
which could be copied . The Guidelines at 15 also state that No theme is prohibited provided the treatment is appropriate for 15 year olds . In the case of Chatroom , the appropriate treatment is provided by the warning
elements of the film and by the highlighting of the dangers of an online world.
The strong sex references in the work occur in the context of online sex chat and paedophiles posing as children or teenagers to lure
the unwary. However, these references also have contextual justification in terms of illustrating the potential dangers of the online world. At 15 , the BBFC's Guidelines state that There may be strong verbal references to sexual behaviour, but
the strongest references are unlikely to be acceptable unless justified by context .
The film also contains infrequent strong language.
The BBFC cut the 2010 Optimum DVD by 8s: Cuts were made to remove sight of unsimulated cruelty to animals (a boar being chased and attacked by dogs; a live deer strung up and struggling on a frame; a live eel being cooked).

Warhol's art house classic follows various residents of the Chelsea Hotel in 1966 New York City, presented in a split screen with a single audio track in conjunction with one side of screen.
For four odd hours Warhol, using the
double-screen technique, declares war against every sensory logic we have grown used to in the movies. Sometimes, the movie just doesn't move. Sometime it does, but at an odd speed. But if you endure, your perception of the art of motion pictures is in
for a ride! Depicting the lives of underground characters known from Lou Reed and Velvet Underground songs, this movie is not only cinematic beauty at its extreme, but also a fascinating documentation of an era in which modernist art reached its climax.
A psychotic serial slasher starts a bloodthirsty murder rampage at Cherry Falls high school that only kills the local high school virgins. This leads to the local teenage population organising a sex party in order to lose their
virginity and thus no longer be targets...

graphic sexual activity during the climactic orgy sequence
The death of a character named Annette The originally scripted scene showed her having her throat slowly pushed onto a pane of glass. The scene was filmed and very brutal, done all
in one graphic cut. However, she shot was later replaced with her character's head split open in the front door. That scene was still trimmed heavily. In unrated versions the top of her head erupts and a splash of blood flies across the doorjamb.

Summary review: Pretty damn entertaining
Children of the Corn 3 is pretty damn
entertaining. Not as good as two, but still superior to the original and well worth watching. It's certainly never effective as a straight horror movie, but it's got plenty of camp appeal and some amusing gore.
Eli just
ain't menacing, like Malachi was in the first one. Still, it's pretty awesome, with a nice scarecrow attack, a corncifiction, a big scary corn monster that eats a doll, some computer generated fireballs, a crazy agitated priest, a chick totally melting,
a corn-thieving hobo who gets his comeuppance, icky bugs, a scary corn-bible and a glimpse into the mysterious world of international corn trade.

The film also has become
controversial because it has been indirectly linked to the brutal murder of James Bulger. The killers, who were 10 years old at the time, were said to have imitated a scene in which one of Chucky's victims is splashed with blue paint. Although these
allegations against the film have never been proven, the case has led to some new legislation for video films. Psychologist Guy Cumberbatch has stated, The link with a video was that the father of one of the boys -- Jon Venables -- had rented Child's

This film is a pretty bad one. It has
the aura of a late night erotic thriller but is just too silly.
If you are a Troma fan, you may be able to get through some of the silly parts. One of my favorite quotes in the film is Shawna Sand-Lamas You have the
power. She has my vote for funniest low budget beauty that cannot act at all. Her scenes look like she's in pain trying to get her lines out. Carmen Electra shines in this film though (probably due to her surrounding actors).
I was hoping for a more action filled superhero film in the lines of The Demolitionist and Black Scorpion, but it wasn't. As a matter of fact there isn't much butt stomping by Electra in her nice superhero outfit at all.
The film tries to take itself a little too seriously most of the time, when it could have been made to be a hilarious low budget sexy action film. It should appeal to people that like late night erotic thrillers and don't mind
miniscule budget movies.

There are several disturbing parts of this movie. The heroin/prostitution scenes are disturbing, but I didn't get disturbed by these as much as I did the story. The media would have us believe

A earlier introduction to Kyra, being forced into one of the empty hellhound cages on cremetoris.
The sub-plot of the Furyan energy is completely restored, several instances of these scenes are visible in the trailer for the film but not

Riddick, while in cryo-sleep aboard Toombs' Skif en-route to Helion Prime is approached in a vision by Shirah (Played by Kristin Lehman as in the game "Chronicles Of Riddick: Escape From

The Purifier's speech to the captured people of Helion Prime is longer (Director David Twohy on the commentary comments that this
is the complete version as originally intended).
Vaako and Dame Vaako's discussion about the Lord Marshall being promoted to full death is extended, continuing with him and her discussing his demise and foreplay.
After Dame Vaako
queries Aereon about Riddick, she discusses what she learns with Vaako over a telepathy/communication with him on the transport.
The fight sequences between Riddick and the Necromonger armies on the surface of Crematoria is completely unedited,
containing full sound effects of the fight and is more visually brutal.
After the fight on the surface of Crematoria, Riddick is surrounded by Necromongers and Vaako is about to shoot him when Shirah re-appears to him and reveals the truth about
what happened on Furya, the revelation sending out a blast from Riddick, knocking all the soldiers down and leaving Riddick unconscious - A shot of this "blast" can be seen in the trailer.

stepping stone for the young boy into the world of film making. The film brings the audience through the changes in cinema and the dying trade of traditional film making, editing and screening. It also explores a young boy's dream of leaving his little
town to foray into the world outside.

Summary Notes
In the small New England town of Dunwich, a priest commits suicide by hanging himself in the church cemetery which somehow opens the gates of hell allowing the dead to rise. Peter, a New
York City reporter, teams up with a young psychic, named Mary, to travel to the town where they team up with another couple, psychiatrist Jerry and patient Sandra, to find a way to close the gates before All Saints Day or the dead all over the world will
rise up and kill the living.
The film has a great atmosphere present throughout, which when combined with the effective sound track generates a feel that's perfect for a horror. The effects and make-up used in the film are
great and would still hold up today even after all this time. There are a couple of great scenes in the film that will really make your stomach turn, and looking back it's possible to tell that they may have inspired more modern film makers.
The
acting leaves a lot to be desired, and the script is far from perfect, but the sheer atmosphere alone is enough to compensate. But what counts the most in a film like this is the gore, and there is plenty of it here.

Summary Review: Thought-provoking
Andy is a new teacher and an inner city high school that is like nothing he has ever seen before. The students have to go through a
metal detector when they go through the front door and everything is basically run by a tough kid named Peter Stegman. Soon, Andy and Stegman become enemies and Stegman will stop at nothing to protect his turf and drug dealing business.
Class of 1984 is an entertaining and thought-provoking combination of the Vigilante and High School Drama flick. The film describes the punks as the next generation of important people. It was done as a reworking of Blackboard
Jungle (it is much better than Cruel Intentions and more gutsy). Class of 1984 is an eerie movie because the depiction of unsafe Urban high schools, metal detectors at schools, and security guards would be a reality eight years later in many high
school cities. It is a courageous movie that isn't afraid to deal with important issues.

It seems that this cut has been adopted as the director's preferred version. From article in trade magazine RRP by Allan Bryce:
Mosiac's new version is almost uncut, restoring all but a few seconds of the notorious
rape scene, and director [Mark L] Lester is delighted about this. That scene is not played for gratuitous thrills. It shows rape for what it is, an ugly, nasty act. And it's necessary to show it because we understand what drives Perry King's character
to commit such a brutal act of revenge against his tormentors."
The director, Mark Lester, however posted a comment about the UK DVD on the Anchor Bay forum:
The UK version being released

The players that inspired a generation: The Class of '92 is a cinematic documentary detailing
the rise to prominence and global sporting superstardom of six supremely talented young Manchester United footballers (David Beckham, Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Phil and Gary Neville). The film covers the period 1992-1999, culminating in
Manchester United's European Cup triumph, and dramatically interweaves and mirrors the highs and lows of its football odyssey with the immense social and cultural changes taking place in Britain at the time. At the heart of this film is the tale of how
six 14-year-old working class lads from diverse backgrounds came together to play for the same club, became the spine of the most lauded team in world football, and who throughout their period of unparalleled success remained best mates. The film has the
unique distinction of having secured unprecedented access to all six players, and gains new and revealing insights about each individual and this special period in British football and cultural history along with fantastic archive footage. In addition,
there are numerous other high profile interviewees including Zinedine Zidane, Tony Blair, Mani from the Stone Roses, Eric Cantona and Danny Boyle.

looks bad enough. Then I show them the uncut version. That clinches it: the MPs all cheer the censor's team.

withdrew the film from release in the UK due to his concerns about the (ultra) violence. However his concern does not appear to have spread elsewhere as it is readily available in the US and most European countries. I've since heard rumours that he
withdrew the film for reasons of his own safety after receiving death threats from nutters. The film was restored to UK distribution after Kubrick's death in 1999.
Anthony Burgess, the author of A Clockwork Orange , said in 1973 that he thought Stanley Kubrick's controversial film based on his novel was boring in places and should have been more violent.
Burgess
said that in the film Kubrick projected violence for its own sake, and that was damnable . He added: It was a good film, though boring in places, but it should have been more violent, because only by piling on the violence could the absurdity
of violence be shown.
We should have been able to reach a stage in violence where we were just laughing at it. This is what I tried to do in the book.
See
extract from thewrap.com which outlines
some of the background to Kubrik's decision to withdraw the film from distribution:
Watching the completed film, Burgess didn't hold it against Kubrick when his wife, repulsed by its choreographed sex and violence, asked
to leave the screening room after a mere ten minutes. Initially, he even managed to tell the press, This is one of the great books that has been made into a great film.
Maybe he meant what he said. Or maybe he simply wanted
to persuade Kubrick to direct his screenplay Napoleon Symphony. In the following weeks, as well as years, Burgess would radically reassess his opinion of A Clockwork Orange the movie.
Summary Review: Cloning attempt results in inevitable mutation
Bruce Lee has just died. Aided by the brilliant Professor Lucas, cells from the martial arts master's body are removed and grown into three adult Bruce Lee
clones. The three are sent out to battle crime, with one sent to take on a gold smuggler, and the other two teaming up to shut down an evil mad scientist.
The best that can be said for the movie is that a few reviewers found it so
bad as to be funny. Other reviewers agreed with the bad but didn't even find it funny.
