	Nice n Naughty is celebrating a ‘four-midable’ success after being named the best in the business by their industry peers for a record fourth year running. The Chester-based company that has 11 stores across the North West of England, Midlands and Wales was named Retailer of the Year at the Erotic Trade Only Awards – the industry equivalent of the Oscars. At a glittering Birmingham awards ceremony, Nice n Naughty secured the coveted crown in an unprecedented run of success, beating rivals such as Ann Summers and the Private chain of sex shops – to mark its 9th anniversary in spectacular style. Delighted company founder, Simon Prescott said the ceremony took place almost to the day since he started the company in 1999 from humble beginnings. In a double boost Nice n Naughty Wholesale also won best oversees R18 film for Supernatural which is produced by the world’s leading adult movie maker, USA based Wicked Pictures. 	Adult retailer Nice ‘n’ Naughty is bringing a whole new meaning to ‘Sex Education’ after four members of staff achieved university degrees, which further illustrates the changing face of the UK’s licensed sex shop industry. To mark their achievements they are all being sent on a free two-week holiday to Egypt, courtesy of kind-hearted boss Simon Prescott! Thomas Buggins from the chain’s Seel Street store in Liverpool has joined Julia Taylor from the High Street shop in Bangor, Louise Jones from Brook Street, Chester and Richard Tandy from an outlet in London Street, Southport in a quadruple graduation success. As reward for their success Store Director Simon is planning a special celebratory dinner with commemorative gifts and is also sending them on a memorable holiday: I am really proud of all of them and want to recognise their dedication and commitment. We have tried to support them from day one and now they have completed their studies I want them to celebrate in style. Simon continued: Nice ‘n’ Naughty provided financial help where necessary to cover the cost of books and other learning materials as not all of them qualified for grants or student loans. On occasions some found juggling the costs of living with increasing fuel, energy and food costs difficult to balance whilst being a part time student. Simon highlighted that adult retail staff are not what people necessarily perceive them to be. They are highly intelligent, dedicated professionals who can combine productive careers whilst studying to achieve some of the highest qualifications available. The prestigious Warrington Business Awards is now in its ninth year and Nice n Naughty have been short listed to the final 2 for the “Buisness of the Year” Award for Nice n Naughty’s Warrington flagship store, out of approximately 1000 businesses in the catchment area. Nice n Naughty had to meet a stringent criteria, which included providing quality throughout the organisation’s structure, strong communications, and good employee/employer relations; all of which were highlighted when Nice n Naughty successfully retained their ‘Investors In People’ Status at their recent re-assessment earlier this year. The glittering gala dinner evening is being held at the prestigious Park Royal Hotel, Stretton, Warrington on Friday, July 18, 2008. 	Nice 'n' Naughty were successful in their bid for an open window display for their Wednesbury sex shop. They applied over three months ago to Sandwell Council. They were invited to attend a special committee meeting after objections were received from local councillors for the Wednesbury area. Nice 'n' Naughty has made headline news in the local paper: ‘ANGER OVER SEX SHOP WINDOW DISPLAY PLAN’, with comments from Councillor Elaine Costigan saying that Wednesbury was not the place for such a sexy display’ and ‘people don’t want to walk through the High Street and see women’s underwear on display. The newspaper article resulted in the local radio station, interviewing people in the street outside the shop asking for their opinions on the morning of the hearing. Richard Allmark and Trish Murray attended the meeting and presented their case to a 10 strong committee to convince them that there weren't going to be dancing dildos in the window. After a 40 minute hearing they were finally granted permission to have a display. An hour after receiving the permission, Richard and store manager Lee Hickman organised a window display with a banner display stand and lingerie. Looks good.

	Nutters object to Wednesbury sex shop window display

	Shoppers could be greeted with displays of saucy underwear under a Wednesbury sex shop’s new plans. Nice ’n’ Naughty currently has blacked out windows but boss Richard Allmark wants to decorate it with lingerie instead. The retail manager has applied to Sandwell Council for the changes to the Lower High Street shop which he hopes will draw in more customers. He also wants to banish the image of the stereotypical sex shop of yesteryear. But the application, which has been submitted to the council’s licensing committee, has drawn inevitable nutter criticism. Town councillor Elaine Costigan said the town was not the right place for such a sexy display and said she would be objecting to the proposal: What will all the older people say? This isn’t right at all, I’ll certainly be sending a letter of objection People don’t want to walk through the High Street and see women’s underwear on display. Wednesbury is an old town, it’s a nice place to live and I genuinely think people would be annoyed if it got the go-ahead. In a letter to the planning committee, Mr Allmark said: The windows are all very tasteful, have nothing displayed that is offensive and would make the store far more appealing. He added that the rest of the shop would be blocked off so passers-by would not be able to see inside. The application will be heard at the meeting of the Licensing Committee on Tuesday 17th June.

	Business and community leaders asked Nice ‘n’ Naughty to put together a striking window display as part of the Chester’s Smile Campaign. Store manager Claudine Thelwell and colleague Louise Jones, responded in style creating a cheeky Adam and Eve theme for the shop front in Brook Street, Chester, close to the city’s main railway station. Nice ‘n’ Naughty director Simon Prescott said he’d been delighted to be a part of the marketing campaign, which also involved well-known mainstream retailers: It wasn’t that long ago that we were having to fight to have window displays in our stores. To be invited by a partnership of community organisations to be involved in their tourism plans is a real breakthrough for our industry. It demonstrates that it is possible to break down some of the myths and taboos surrounding adult retailers. Simon added: “The company is committed to developing public awareness of changes within the adult industry and eliminating the stigma and perceptions associated with adult shops.” Chester City Management, a partnership of business, education, community and voluntary groups including the police, fire and resident groups, launched the Smile campaign to boost tourism numbers. A judging panel made up of local dignitaries will be visiting the Nice ‘n’ Naughty store next month to see whether the display is worthy of a prize, presented by celebrity interior designer Lawrence Llewelyn-Bowen or top television gardener Diarmund Gavin.

More than 300 athletes and 200 officials will be sent their own personal supply of contraceptives to help them through the Olympic warm up and 16 days of intense competition. The condoms will be specially branded and come in red, white and blue to ensure the team continues to wave the flag while in Beijing. Nice ‘n’ Naughty director Simon Prescott says he also wants to make sure Great Britain’s athletes come home without any unwanted trophies from the trip. The Games are designed to bring nations together. We want those cultural exchanges to be as enjoyable as possible, so what better way to support the team than with a gift everyone, both winners and losers, can use. Out of the 6 stores under review, the Nice’n’Naughty branch was the only store awarded the maximum 5 star, As good as it gets in any retail sector rating for its store.

The review went on to say: Inside, the shop has an excellent selection of R18 DVD’s; Male and female staff added a pleasant air as I admired magazines and a great toy wall, all to the strings of some gentle calming music. The space was utilised wonderfully, with a central isle holding bondage bits, lingerie and Kinky Heals. Another bell from the door told me I was no longer shopping alone, and a busy shop is a good shop.

Philip Price, Area Manager for the branch, said that it was a testament to the dedication from the company’s staff and the commitment they give to their customers that keep them market leaders in the adult retail industry.

	Nice 'n' Naughty, Nice t' Staff A Chester-based sex shop chain has become the first business in the adult industry to receive an Investors in People award. Nice 'n' Naughty,, which has branches throughout the North West and North Wales, won the internationally recognised accolade after eight months of assessments of working conditions. When we opened the Chester branch on July 31st 1999 we really, really struggled but the public’s attitude has changed. This award is voted for by the industry itself its great to know we are so well respected and acknowledged by our peers. But it demonstrates the high quality of our modern and appealing stores and also our friendly and knowledgeable staff.
	Adult Retailer of the Year 2008 Nice n Naughty is celebrating a ‘four-midable’ success after being named the best in the business by their industry peers for a record fourth year running. The Chester-based company that has 11 stores across the North West of England, Midlands and Wales was named Retailer of the Year at the Erotic Trade Only Awards – the industry equivalent of the Oscars. At a glittering Birmingham awards ceremony, Nice n Naughty secured the coveted crown in an unprecedented run of success, beating rivals such as Ann Summers and the Private chain of sex shops – to mark its 9th anniversary in spectacular style. Delighted company founder, Simon Prescott said the ceremony took place almost to the day since he started the company in 1999 from humble beginnings. In a double boost Nice n Naughty Wholesale also won best oversees R18 film for Supernatural which is produced by the world’s leading adult movie maker, USA based Wicked Pictures. Simon emphasised: “We have come a very long as since I started the business with one retail outlet in Chester. Nice n Naughty is a massive success story, built on a very dedicated and committed workforce. Customers can be assured that when they buy from Nice n Naughty they are buying from the best in the business. Chester	I recently visited Nice 'n' Naughty in Chester, and I would like to comment on the shop from a customers point of view. I took my wife for a day out shopping in Chester last week and we had checked out the Nice 'n' Naughty website but my wife didn't want to go into a sex shop because the Private one we had been in before was seedy. When we walked past the Nice 'n' Naughty shop it was great to see a nice window display with sexy clothes. My wife decided to stay in the car while I went in to get her a Toy. The staff were so friendly and made me feel relaxed, the girl there explained all the types of toys available., I went out and convinced my wife to come in as it was nothing like the pushy sales man at private, although the man in Nice 'n' Naughty is big with a bald head he is a really nice bloke and he showed me the videos while my wife was picking a toy with the girl. The choice of videos was better than the toys they had hundreds. I recommend the shop to anyone and the pubs in Chester aren't bad either.	Fabulous. So impressed. I was extremely nervous as I wasn't sure what the shop was going to be like but I can tell you that I am never shopping anywhere else again. The service is amazing and so friendly. I asked quietly to one of the girls there if they catered for bi-sexual and tv/ts. Quietly she answered back, 'How much time have you got?' To my amazement I spent over half an hour going through dress sizes and video/dvd titles. I have never felt so comfortable about my sexuality. There is no judgement passed and I had a great laugh and girly giggles. The comment made about the 'Big, Bald guy' a little scary looking but just as friendly as the girls and very much there to look after everyone as he is the girls. Not that they need looking after. They are all so on the ball never missing anyone, and always a smile to make you that little bit more comfortable.
		We have been visiting the shop now for some time and have to say of any shop anywhere Nice N naughty have by far the best customer service anywhere. Our first visit will remain with us for years to come. We were after a vibrator and having walked in and spent sometime looking at the extensive range of available products were at a loss as to what to go for. It was our first visit and a little apprehensive as to what to expect. We were approached by a young lady (Trish) who then spent ages explaining each and every product to myself and Girlfriend. At no point were we pressured into spending hundreds of pounds and we felt we would have been as much thought of and received just as much attention if we had wanted just advice. Since then we have visited this shop many many times and the service has just got better. It’s so far removed from the stereo typical sex shop it has to be visited to be believe. If only all sex shops were this good, mind you I am glad they are not, because that’s what sets Nice N Naughty aside and makes it such a pleasure to go. Thanks for a great service, a great range of products and best of all the best dedication to your customers we have ever encountered.
Bolton	From Phil, Feb 2007: Rampant Selection Nipped in there yesterday, thinking Valentines day, and me being in serious trouble as I'd not got anything for her yet; and how surprised was I! First by the range of toys, DVDs and Lingerie, but also by how comfortable the place felt! The guy behind the counter was really friendly, and seemed to know what he was talking about! They had a great range of Rampant Rabbits, which should keep anyone's wife happy, including mine! He took me through their different functions, and I ended up with an all singing all dancing version that should keep her happy for hours! Then it was on to something to wear, and ended up with a rather slinky set from Wild Designs! Will definitely be in there again, and may even treat us to a DVD, will take the wife next time as well, as I'm sure she'll fell as relaxed in there as I did! Well done nicennaughty for creating a sex shop for the 21st century!
Liverpool Colquitt Street	What an unbelievable difference walking into the new Nice 'n' Naughty in Colquitt Street Liverpool. I went into the shop last week with my wife and could not believe the difference in this shop compared to other sex shops. It is the first time I have been into a Nice 'n' Naughty shop and I have to say that if all other sex shops were up to this standard especially in the South of England the shops would be a pleasurable experience. The range of rabbits, DVDs, lingerie, outfits, shoes and other goodies was excellent. The staff were so friendly and helpful not the usual smelly tattooed oaf you get in the shops in the south. It has given me and my wife a total new shopping experience, its just a shame that the shop is so far away from where we live.
Liverpool Seel Street	I have been a customer of the Private stores across the North West for many years, but this week I went to the new shop that has been recently licensed in Liverpool on Seel Street . All I can say is what a refreshing change. The shop was clean and well lit with the almost unbelievable selection of DVD's and Video's. The guy behind the counter explained that Nice and Naughty took over and completely refurbished it. The guy was really friendly and helpful without the hard sell you become used to in the Private shops, he explained the range of titles and then left me to pick at my own leisure. The prices were a lot cheaper than I normally pay and the choice great. They also had a large section Magazines which the guy explained are up to date and new titles come in every week. Mags are not my thing but the selection was impressive. I purchased 2 DVDs and was stunned when he offered me another one completely free of charge. If you are fed up of the same old title the Private shop offers and the pushy hardsell attitude - give this place a try.
Manchester	Review from Chris, Feb 2007: Little Gem Thought I'd have to put fingers to keys after finding a really nice little sex shop in Manchester. I've just moved up here from London, and not expecting to find anything as pleasant as this little gem! What surprised me was the range of toys and DVDs the guy had managed to get in to the place. there was everything I could have thought of and more! Having a mooch at the dvds, and after about an hour, I ended up with a new one from a company called Vouyer Media, the cover said it had received AVN awards so I though why not give it a go! WOW! heading back to get some more, the best gonzo I've seen in a long time! The guy even let me choose another title free as the Vouyer stuff was a brand new line for him! What was nice about the place was that I never felt rushed, I mooched the dvds with out having any one breathing down my neck, forcing me to chose one! I even ended up getting a couple of toys to go! the girlfriend kept going on about "rampant rabbits" and I ended up with one that does everything except light the cig afterwards! and he even gave me 10% off cos I mentioned Melon Farmers! Roll on the next visit!
Southport	I have been into the new store at Southport and found it to be just the thing needed to liven up the area. Of course not everyone will enjoy seeing the store as they leave the train station but on the other hand it is the perfect location for people to drop in. I found the staff to be very friendly and made me and my friend feel comfortable with having a look around.
