The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It is a 2021 USA horror mystery thriller by Michael Chaves Starring Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson and Julian Hilliard
Uncut and MPA R rated in the US. This was initially rated 18 uncut, by the BBFC but the distributors preferred a cut 15 rated version for 2021 cinema release. For home video the 4K Blu-ray is uncut but all the other formats are
cut. The film is rated 16 uncut by IFCO for Irish cinema release.
BBFC cuts The BBFC commented about the cut UK Version: The distributor chose to reduce bloody injury
detail in a suicide scene in order to obtain a 15 classification. An uncut 18 classification was available.
Of course the BBFC is referring to vertical wrist slitting which is disallowed at 15. See the uncut scene in
video from streamable.com . Ben comments: I've seen the uncut footage and 18 is absurdly harsh. It's demonic possession and *technically*
self-harm, but not an attempted suicide at all as the BBFC called it. You see glass and blood on the man's wrist but no clear sign of process and injury
UK: Passed 18 uncut for strong injury detail, horror:
UK: The UK edit was passed 15 for strong threat, horror, violence after BBFC category cuts:
Uncut in the US US: Uncut and MPA R rated for terror, violence and some disturbing images:
Promotional Material One of the most sensational cases from Ed and Lorraine Warren's files, it starts with a fight for the soul of a young boy, then takes them beyond anything they'd ever seen
before. |

1984 USA action Sci-Fi adventure by David Lynch, once cut for a BBFC PG rating, just released on US 4K Blu-ray

| |
Dune is a 1984 USA action Sci-Fi adventure by David Lynch. Starring Kyle MacLachlan and Virginia Madsen and Francesca Annis.
BBFC category cuts were required for a PG rated 1984 cinema release.
Uncut and 15 rated on UK home video until 2016 when the rating was dropped to 12. Uncut and MPAA PG-13 rated in the US. Summary Notes In the far future, a duke and his family are sent
by the Emperor to a sand world from which comes a spice that is essential for interstellar travel. The move is designed to destroy the duke and his family, but his son escapes and seeks revenge as he uses the world's ecology as one of his weapons.
US: Uncut and MPAA PG-13 rated for:
Promotional Material Following a notorious aborted attempt by Alejandro Jodorowsky in the 1970s, Frank Herbert's bestselling sci-fi epic Dune finally made it to the big screen as the third film by
emerging surrealist wunderkind David Lynch, featuring an all-star cast that includes several of Lynch's regular collaborators. The year is 10,191, and four planets are embroiled in a secret plot to wrest control of the Spice Melange, the most
precious substance in the universe and found only on the planet Arrakis. A feud between two powerful dynasties, House Atreides and House Harkonnen, is manipulated from afar by ruling powers that conspire to keep their grip on the spice. As the two
families clash on Arrakis, Duke Atreides' son Paul (Kyle MacLachlan, in his screen debut) finds himself at the center of an intergalactic war and an ancient prophecy that could change the galaxy forever. Though its initial reception ensured that
Lynch largely eschewed mainstream filmmaking for the rest of his career, Dune has since been rightly re-evaluated as one of the most startlingly original and visionary science fiction films of the 1980s. Its astonishing production design and
visual effects can now be appreciated anew in this spellbinding 4K restoration, accompanied by hours of comprehensive bonus features. Sixties London. In a surprising performance, Peter Cushing (Captain Clegg, The Revenge of Frankenstein) stars as a high-class plastic surgeon who is driven to murder as part of a demented quest to rebuild the decaying visage of his fashion model
wife (Sue Lloyd, The Ipcress File), who has been severely scarred at a party. A film that pushed the envelope of gore and sleaze in its era, Corruption is presented on home video for the first time in the UK. Extras INDICATOR LIMITED

Both versions are available for UK home video release. The film is rated
16 uncut by IFCO for Irish cinema release. Summary Notes A chilling story of terror, murder and unknown evil that shocked even experienced real-life paranormal investigators Ed and
Lorraine Warren. One of the most sensational cases from their files, it starts with a fight for the soul of a young boy, then takes them beyond anything they'd ever seen before, to mark the first time in U.S. history that a murder suspect would claim
demonic possession as a defense. US: Uncut and MPAA R rated for:

All About Eve is a 1950 US drama by Joseph L. Mankiewicz Starring Bette Davis, Anne Baxter and George Sanders
There are no censorship issues with this release beyond noting
probable misinformation in the BBFC's shoddy new database. The latest cinema certificate is U uncut but the latest video certificate listed in the BBFC database suggests that the film is 12 rated for bleeped strong language. I don't

The Cat o'Nine Tails is a 1971 Italy / France / West Germany mystery thriller by Dario Argento. Starring James Franciscus, Karl Malden and Catherine Spaak.
A presumably pre-cut version was passed by the BBFC for an AA rated 1971
cinema release, The 18 rated VHS was slightly shortened for video and 2002 DVD. The same versions was reduced to a 15 rating in 2005. The same version is unrated in the US but the PG rated version is heavily cut. US: Uncut and MPAA
Unrated for:
Promotional Material Following the success of his debut feature, The Bird with the Crystal Plumage, distributor Titanus tasked writer/director Dario Argento with delivering a follow-up in short order.
The resulting film, granted a greatly enhanced budget and heralded in its US marketing campaign as nine times more suspenseful than its predecessor, was The Cat O Nine Tails. When a break-in occurs at a secretive genetics institute, blind
puzzle-maker Franco Arnň (Karl Malden, Patton, One-Eyed Jacks), who overheard an attempt to blackmail one of the institutes scientists shortly before the robbery, teams up with intrepid reporter Carlo Giordani (James Franciscus, Beneath the Planet of the
Apes) to crack the case. But before long the bodies begin to pile up and the two amateur sleuths find their own lives imperiled in their search for the truth. And worse still, Lori (Cinzia De Carolis, Cannibal Apocalypse), Francos young niece, may also
be in killers sights This second entry in the so-called Animal Trilogy found Argento further refining his distinctive style and cementing his reputation as the master of the giallo thriller. Co-starring Catherine Spaak ( Il Sorpasso) and Rada
Rassimov ( Baron Blood), and featuring another nerve-jangling score by the great Ennio Morricone ( The Bird with the Crystal Plumage, The Good, The Bad and the Ugly), The Cat O Nine Tails remains one of Argentos most suspenseful and underrated films.

her father having deserted the family when she was a child, and having had a difficult relationship with her mother following, she who mocked Eddie's ability to be the man the of the family. Gonda enters into a sexual relationship with Eddie, who he

The Cat o'Nine Tails is a 1971 Italy / France / West Germany mystery thriller by Dario Argento. Starring James Franciscus, Karl Malden and Catherine Spaak.
The BBFC AA rated 1971 cinema release was cut, but the BBFC database claims it to be uncut. The contradiction hasn't been fully explained but there may be a combination of pre-cuts and BBFC cuts. The 18 rated VHS was slightly
shortened for video and 2002 DVD. The same versions was reduced to a 15 rating in 2005. The same version is unrated in the US but the PG rated version is heavily cut. UK: Previously passed 15 uncut for strong violence:
Censorship History Thanks to Tim who has kindly provided new information about cuts for the 1971 AA rated cinema release. Despite what the BBFC website states the film does
appear to have been cut for an AA rating in 1971 as a cuts list is recorded on the BBFC's Register of Exceptions. The MFB reported a running time of 104m for the UK theatrical release compared to 111m for the uncut version meaning there must have been
additional distributor cuts as well (or else the distributor had an edited print). Here is the BBFC cuts list [with my annotations estimating cuts to be in the range 1m to 1.5m]:
- Reel 2 - Reduce the scene in which the photographer is garrotted especially removing big close-ups of his contorted face. [~10s]
- Shorten the opening shots in the transvestites' club so that some of the more obvious
perverts are not seen. [~20s of shots of Carlo walking past homosexuals and men in drag] - Reel 3 - Considerably reduce the garrotting of Bianca, especially remove all shots of her face being banged against the carpet,
spittle and blood coming from her mouth etc so that her face on the carpet is only seen after she is dead. [~20s]
- Reel 4 - Remove the shots of Anna stripping to the waist. [~11s, two shots plus bridging shot of
Carlo]
- Reel 6 - Shorten both fights, removing close-ups of bloodstained faces and in the second fight also remove the knee kicks.
Promotional Material Following the success of his debut feature, The Bird with the Crystal Plumage , distributor Titanus tasked writer/director Dario Argento with
delivering a follow-up in short order. The resulting film, granted a greatly enhanced budget and heralded in its US marketing campaign as "nine times more suspenseful" than its predecessor, was The Cat O' Nine Tails . When a

1964 USA drama by Sidney Lumet just released on UK Blu-ray/DVD Combo with its BBFC rating elevated from 12 to 15

The Pawnbroker is a 1964 USA drama by Sidney Lumet. Starring Rod Steiger and Geraldine Fitzgerald and Brock Peters.
Uncut by the BBFC but the censors seem unsure as to the rating. The
cinema release in 1964 was X rated, for 1998 VHS it was 12 rated, but for 2021 Blu-ray release the rating had been elevated to 15. Noted as the first Hollywood film since the Hayes Code was introduced that featured a topless scene, a rather serious
flashback to the Holocaust. After the filmmakers appealed to the MPAA's appeals board to oppose censoring the film, it became the first U.S. film to show a nude woman from the waist up and be granted a Production Code Seal. [Note that a
year earlier the first modern day topless scene appeared in a Hollywood movie Promises! Promises! showing Jayne Mansfield's breasts. However this film did not get MPAA approval and had to be released unrated]. UK: Passed Suitable
for 15 years and over uncut for:
Promotional Material Sol Nazerman (Rod Steiger), a survivor of the concentration camps, which took the lives of his wife and children. Managing a New York pawn shop, he is bereft of hope and takes refuge
in condemnation of humanity while seemingly numb to the circumstances of the prostitutes, pimps and thieves that frequent his store. Yet there are those who strive to connect with him, even as their intrusion into his world threatens the protective
cynicism within which he has wrapped himself for so long. Oscar®-nominated* for his performance, Steiger firmly established his credentials as an actor of international standing, wonderfully supported here by Geraldine Fitzgerald ( Wuthering
Heights ) and Brock Peters ( To Kill a Mockingbird ). The film also boasts a score from the legendary Quincy Jones. Extras
- Presented in High Definition and Standard Definition
- Newly recorded audio commentary by Maura Spiegel, author of Sidney Lumet: A Life and Annette Insdorf, author of Indelible Shadows: Film and Holocaust
- Guardian
Interview: Rod Steiger (1992, 113 mins, audio only): Rod Steiger discusses his career and talks candidly about his mental health issues in this interview with film critic Tom Hutchinson. Recorded at the BFI's National Film Theatre following a
screening of The Pawnbroker
- Now and Then: Quincy Jones (1968, 20 mins): the legendary producer, musician, songwriter and composer is interviewed by Bernard Braden for his never broadcast series Now and Then
- Ten Bob
in Winter (1963, 12 mins): Lloyd Reckford's Ten Bob in Winter is one of the most notable shorts to come out of the BFI Experimental Film Fund. An early classic of Black British cinema about the intriguing social dynamics that arise as a ten
shilling note is passed around the Black community

Angel Of Death is a 1987 France action thriller by Jesús Franco and then Andrea Bianchi (as A. Frank Drew White). Starring Christopher Mitchum and Suzanne Andrews and Fernando Rey.

Promotional Material The Blood of Millions is on his hands! From the fevered mind of the notorious Jess Franco (BARBED WIRE DOLLS) comes 1987's ANGEL OF DEATH (aka COMMANDO MENGELE), a deranged free-fall
into ''Nazisploitaion'' that takes its cues from the blockbuster 1978 shocker THE BOYS FROM BRAZIL and delivers the sort of delirium that fans of French genre film studio Eurocine hunger for! When an attractive pair of young Nazi hunters exploring
Uruguay accidentally stumble upon the lair of the maniacal war criminal Dr. Josef Mengele, they immediately live to regret it. There, deep in the sweltering jungles, Mengele has continued his hideous human experiments, torturing, murdering and mutilating
nubile virgins in the name of creating some sort of master race. Soon, mercenaries, monstrosities, femme fatales and vengeful concentration camp survivors face off, with bullets and bodies flying everywhere and Mengele holding cretinous court. Written by (under the name D. Khunn) and co-directed by Franco and completed by Italian trash movie maverick Andrea Bianchi (BURIAL GROUND: NIGHTS OF TERROR), the pair signed off on the film as ''Frank Drew White'', apparently too nervous to take credit for making this truly daft piece of unsavory exploitation.
ANGEL OF DEATH is a fast-paced slice of vintage Eurocine mayhem, with an international cast that includes Franco regulars Jack Taylor, Antonio Mayans and Howard Vernon (as Mengele) along with Robert Mitchum's son Christopher and Shirley Knight
from Franco's equally insane WHITE CANNIBAL QUEEN. Jump into the jungle with Jess and get ready for some prime cinematic insanity! Get ready for ANGEL OF DEATH, presented here in a beautiful, uncut master culled from the original 35mm camera negative.

The BBFC 15 rated The Suicide Squad stirs a little press interest with some viewers suggesting an 18 rating would be preferable

The Suicide Squad is a 2021 USA action comedy adventure by james gunn... Starring Margot Robbie, Idris Elba and John Cena
Supervillains Harley Quinn, Bloodsport, Peacemaker and a collection of nutty cons at Belle Reve prison join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X as they are dropped off at the remote, enemy-infused island of
Corto Maltese. There are no cuts issues with this film. In Ireland IFCO rated the film 16 for strong violence and bloody action. It was also 16 rated in New Zealand and Germany. In the US it was rated R for strong violence and
gore, language throughout, some sexual references, drug use and brief graphic nudity. In Australia the film was originally rated R18+ by the censor board, but this was reduced to MA15+ on appeal to the review board. The appeal was paid for by the
distributor. In the UK the film was passed 15 uncut for strong bloody violence, gore, language, brief drug misuse. The BBFC described the violence in the film: Frequent scenes of violence include shootings,
stabbings, slashings, decapitations, limbs being cut off, people being crushed, melted, torn apart and exploding. Much of the violence has a darkly comic tone, and results in bloody detail and gory images.
The decision generated a
little press coverage for viewers suggesting that they thought the film should be 18 rated. In response to The Independent's request for comment, the BBFC said: Whilst comparatively more violent than the last film, the
violence is mitigated by the film's humour and the action-packed fantasy context. The violence and gore were sufficiently mitigated due to the focus on action within a comic, fantastic, superhero context. At 15, our Classification Guidelines state that
'violence may be strong but should not dwell on the infliction of pain or injury.

Both versions are available for UK home video release. The film is rated 16
uncut by IFCO for Irish cinema release. UK: The UK edit was passed 15 for strong threat, horror, violence after BBFC category cuts:
- 2021 Warner Bros video
- 2021 cinema release
The BBFC commented: The distributor chose to reduce bloody injury detail in a suicide scene in order to obtain a 15 classification. An uncut 18 classification was available.
Of course the BBFC is
referring to vertical wrist slitting which is disallowed at 15. See the uncut scene in video from streamable.com . Ben comments: I've seen the
uncut footage and 18 is absurdly harsh. It's demonic possession and *technically* self-harm, but not an attempted suicide at all as the BBFC called it. You see glass and blood on the man's wrist but no clear sign of process and injury

The Crimes of the Black Cat is a 1972 Italy mystery thriller by Sergio Pastore. Starring Anthony Steffen, Sylva Koscina and Giovanna Lenzi.
Cut by the BBFC for an X rated cinema release in 1976.
US: Uncut and MPAA Unrated for:
Promotional Material After a young model seemingly dies of a heart attack, her lover, Peter Oliver (Anthony Steffen, The Night Evelyn Came out of the Grave, Django the Bastard) and his butler begin their
own investigation into the death and soon find an intertwined series of murders, all involving a cat and a yellow shawl. One step ahead of the police, but always right behind the killer, Peter manages to piece together clue after clue until the final,
shocking showdown with the bloodthirsty killer. Released in the shadows of Dario Argento's wildly successful The Bird with the Crystal Plumage (and one of over 30 Italian giallo films produced in 1972), The Crimes of the Black Cat delivers the style of a
classic giallo with sleazy, over the top violence that rivals Italian films from a decade later. Despite its pedigree of talent including Sylva Koscina (Lisa and the Devil), Renato De Carmine (Challenge to White Fang), Giacomo Rossi Stuart (Death Smiles
at a Murderer, Shanghai Joe), Umberto Raho (Amuck, Summertime Killer), and Annabella Incontrera (The Case of the Blood Iris), an eerie score by Manuel De Sica (Dellamorte Dellamore), and behind the scenes work from Fabrizio De Angelis (producer of
Zombie, The Beyond) The Crimes of the Black Cat has been largely ignored on home video. Previously unavailable in HD or in the proper aspect ratio, The Crimes of the Black Cat makes its worldwide Blu-Ray debut with an uncut 4K restoration via Cauldron
Films. Bonus features include: Commentary track with Fragments of Fear - A Giallo Podcast with Peter Jilmstad and Rachael Nisbet, English SDH Subtitles , Image Gallery, Trailer, Commentary by Troy Howarth and Nathaniel Thompson, Remembering Sergio

The Chinese Boxer is a 1970 Hong Kong action crime film by Yu Wang. Starring Yu Wang and Lieh Lo and Ping Wang.
Cut by the BBFC for 18 rated VHS in 1986. Presumably uncut for 18
rated Blu-ray in 2021. UK: Presumably passed 18 uncut for sexual violence:
Promotional Material From the golden age of Kung Fu movies, the legendary Shaw Brothers bring you an action-packed tale of revenge, mayhem and flying fists. When his martial arts school is viciously
attacked by a rival gang of Japanese thugs, Lei Ming swears to bring them down with violent justice. Written, starring and directed by Jimmy Wang Yu, The Chinese Boxer (1970) is a fabulously fast-paced feature full of exquisite set-pieces and
mind-blowing fight choreography. A huge influence on the likes of Tarantino's Kill Bill (2003) and Bruce Lee's Fist of Fury (1972) this entertainingly savage story of resilience, skill and a battle against the odds, is one of the first true modern
classics of the genre, focussing as it does on physical prowess and athletic proficiency over the more mythical elements of the wuxia era. An undoubted cult classic, this is a must for any serious collector of extreme Asian cinema and martial arts
madness. Extras: Interview with David West

Version/Extended Version is MPAA PG-13 rated for violence and some sensuality:
- 2021 Arrow Limited Edition [Theatrical + Extended Versions] RA Blu-ray at US
Amazon released on 29th June 2021
Promotional Material THE SCREEN STRETCHES TO NEW HORIZONS TO TELL THE EPIC STORY OF THE SOUTHWEST! After making his first bonafide classic in Ride the High Country, director Sam Peckinpah took a step
towards the epic with Major Dundee. The film would, in many ways, define the rest of his career both on screen and off, as the drama behind the camera matched the action in front of Charlton Heston stars as Major Amos Dundee, a vainglorious Union
Cavalry officer, who mounts an expedition to hunt down Apache war chief Sierra Charriba. Building his own army of criminals, ex-slaves and Confederate POWs - among them one Captain Ben Tyreen (Richard Harris), whose intense former friendship with Dundee
is tainted with a sense of betrayal on both sides - Dundee heads into Mexico, his eye fixed firmly on a last shot at greatness. Legendarily acerbic, Major Dundee would be the first time that Peckinpah had a movie taken away from him. While a
director's cut may be lost to us, this Limited Edition shows us the thrilling, morally complex epic that Peckinpah was aiming for. Beautifully shot and with a stellar supporting cast including James Coburn, Warren Oates, and L.Q. Jones, it remains a
stunning achievement and an essential experience for anyone interested in the life and cinema of Bloody Sam. TWO-DISC LIMITED EDITION BLU-RAY CONTENTS
