REVENGE OF THE LIVING DEAD GIRLS - Uncut and remastered in HD!

In 1987, Parisian pornographers Pierre B. Reinhard and Jean-Claude Roy deviated from their usual high-end skin fare to instead create un cassoulet d'atrocityés that remains the most extreme French gore film in history. When a trio of vixens is killed by corporate-tainted milk, their nubile corpses will rise from the grave for a Jean-Rollin-meets-RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD orgy of depravity that DVD Drive-In calls "A fetishistic ode to blood, breasts and brutality."

Severin Films is très fier to present this long-unseen "grimy rhapsody of deviance" (Bleeding Skull), featuring graphic splatter by doomed FX master Benoît Lestang (THE WAX MAX, MARTYRS). Now remastered in HD and spurting with all-new Special Features.

Stephen "Hannibal" Brooks (Oliver Reed, Burnt Offerings, The Hunting Party) is a British prisoner of war assigned to care for an elephant named Lucy in a Munich zoo. The Alfred Hitchcock Classics Collection features four iconic films from the acclaimed director's illustrious career including Rear Window, Vertigo, Psycho and The Birds in stunning 4K resolution. Starring Hollywood favorites such as James Stewart, Grace Kelly, Anthony Perkins, Janet Leigh, Tippi Hedren, Kim Novak and Rod Taylor, this essential collection features hours of bonus features as well as the original uncut version of Psycho for the first time ever.

Update: Claims dressed up as something they're not

30th July 2020. Thanks to Simon and David

The promotional materials claim that these latest release are the first uncut releases ever. However the uncut version has already been released in Germany twice. One example is the Alfred Hitchcock Legacy Collection Blu-ray from Turbine.

It seems that the US distributors claims are a little US-centric.

"***1/2! Reworking many of the themes from his previous works Repulsion and Rosemary's Baby ... The Tenant proves to be another first-class effort from genre director Polanski. A must-see" -- The Terror Trap An apartment with an unhappy past sets the stage for filmmaker Roman Polanski's riveting psychological suspense thriller, The Tenant. Polanski stars as Trelkovsky, a quiet, timid file clerk increasingly overshadowed with dread and fear after he moves into his new apartment. Adding to his paranoia are the building's other occupants, who do nothing to alleviate his growing obsession with the untimely, tragic fate of the apartment's previous tenant. Is Trelkovsky's dread truly justified -- or is it simply the result of his seemingly disintegrating mental state? A brilliant international cast -- Isabelle Adjani, Melvyn Douglas, Jo Van Fleet, Bernard Fresson and Shelley Winters -- and Polanski's own penchant for delivering unprecedented suspense (Repulsion, Rosemary's Baby, Chinatown) make The Tenant a haunting, riveting film classic!

When Burke and Hares' supply of available corpses begins to run out, they decide to speed the process along by murdering the poor and the homeless. Men and women, old and young, everyone becomes a target for the deadly duo, but even as the body count rises, Knox turns a blind eye to their methods in order to further his research. With the public out for the killers' blood and the Medical Council out to disgrace him, Dr. Knox must use all of his skill and intelligence to preserve the dignity of his profession and to justify his controversial actions in the face of near-universal condemnation. The Libertine is a euro-cult gem, a romantic sex comedy with a light S&M twist. When Mimi (Catherine Spaak, The Cat O Nine Tails, 1971) discovers her late husband s secret bachelor pad and sordid past, she sets out on a sexual adventure all of her own. From bored housewife to daring dominatrix, through a series of bold sexual encounters, each one more thrilling than the next, Mimi finds life as a widow much more than she could have ever hoped for. But when she meets Dr. Carlo De Marchi (Jean-Louis Trintignant, The Conformist, 1970) she discovers that the road to true love lies in finding a man who will willingly let her ride him around like a horse.

Five action-packed kung-fu landmarks from international martial-arts legend Bruce Lee Now together on Blu-ray

In the early 1970s, a kung-fu dynamo named Bruce Lee side-kicked his way onto the screen and straight into pop-culture immortality. With his magnetic screen presence, tightly coiled intensity, and superhuman martial-arts prowess, Lee was an icon who conquered both Hong Kong and Hollywood cinema, and transformed the art of the action film in the process.

This collection brings together the five films that define the Lee legend: furiously exciting fist-fliers propelled by his innovative choreography, unique martial-arts philosophy, and whirlwind fighting style.

Though he completed only a handful of films while at the peak of his stardom before his untimely death at age thirty-two, Lee left behind a monumental legacy as both a consummate entertainer and a supremely disciplined artist who made Hong Kong action cinema a sensation the world over.

THE BIG BOSS Enter a legend. Bruce Lee's return to the Hong Kong film industry after a decade in America proved to be his big breakthrough, launching him to superstardom and setting a new standard for kung-fu heroics. In The Big Boss, he commands the screen with his gravitas and explosive physicality in the role of a Chinese immigrant working at a Thai ice factory and sworn to an oath of nonviolence. When he discovers that the factory's ruthless higher-ups are running a secret heroin ring and offing their own workers, his commitment to pacifism is put to the test. With his undeniable charisma and fluid, lightning-fast martial-arts style, Lee is a revelation, blazing across the screen with a speed and power the likes of which had never been seen before.

FIST OF FURY Bruce Lee is at his most awe-inspiringly ferocious in this blistering follow-up to his star-making turn in The Big Boss, which turned out to be an even greater success than its predecessor. Set in 1910s Shanghai, Fist of Fury casts Lee as a martial-arts student who, after his revered master is murdered by a rival dojo of Japanese imperialists, sets out to defend the honor of both his school and the Chinese people, with his fatal fists as his weapon of choice. Elevating Lee to a hero of near folkloric proportions, this historical revenge fantasy blends its stunning action set pieces with a strong anticolonialist statement and a potent dose of the fierce cultural pride that the actor embodied.

THE WAY OF THE DRAGON After the back-to-back triumphs of The Big Boss and Fist of Fury, Bruce Lee was given the chance to write, produce, and direct his third outing as a martial-arts superstar. He used the opportunity to add a touch of goofily entertaining comedy to the typically action-driven proceedings in The Way of the Dragon, which finds him playing a rigorously trained martial artist who travels from Hong Kong to Rome to help his cousin, whose restaurant is being threatened by a gang of thugs. Reaching new heights of physical virtuosity, Lee unleashes an astonishing display of nunchuck-swinging, fly-kicking mayhem, all culminating in one of his most breathtaking fights: an epic gladiatorial death match with Chuck Norris in the Roman Colosseum.

ENTER THE DRAGON At the height of his stardom in Hong Kong, Bruce Lee was called to Hollywood to make the film that, perhaps more than any other, defines his legacy. His electrifying fighting style and the deeply personal philosophy that guided it received their fullest expression yet in this thrilling tale of a Shaolin fighter who goes undercover to infiltrate a treacherous island presided over by a renegade monk turned diabolical criminal mastermind. Released just days after Lee's tragic death, Enter the Dragon went on to become his greatest international success and one of the most influential action movies ever made, with its famed hall-of-mirrors finale bringing together the physical and intellectual dimensions of his artistry in one dazzling set piece.

GAME OF DEATH Released five years after Bruce Lee's death, this eccentrically entertaining kung-fu curio combines footage from an unfinished project directed by and starring Lee with original material shot by Enter the Dragon director Robert Clouse to create an entirely new work that testifies to the actor's enduring place in the pop-culture imagination. Using stand-ins, doubles, and archival footage to compensate for Lee's absence, Game of Death follows a martial-arts movie star who, when he is threatened by a cutthroat crime syndicate intent on controlling his career, must take his skills from the soundstage to the streets. It all builds to an exhilarating climax that is pure Lee: a tour de force of martial-arts mastery in which the legend himself, clad in an iconic yellow jumpsuit, fights his way up a multilevel pagoda, with the towering Kareem Abdul-Jabbar among his formidable opponents.

Shortened and/or cut in the US and was titled A Quiet Place to Kill. This version was passed X by the BBFC for 1973 cinema release. The original version titled Paranoia was passed 15 uncut for 2019 Blu-ray.

In 1969 another film from the same director was called Orgasmo in Italy but was re-titled Paranoia in the US. This then caused confusion when in the following year the director made another film and called it Paranoia. So to save confusion the US distributors re-titled the second film to A Quiet Place To Kill. But this has caused confusion ever since.

Thanks to Tim who comments:

I'm also fairly sure that the Indicator print of Hammer's Maniac is the BBFC cut print (despite the BBFC statement about waived cuts) since all the releases I've seen are the BBFC cut print but I don't own it so can't be definite.

In fact the running time is also 2:14s shorter than the version submitted for cinema release in 1963.

As her marriage to decorated war hero Oliver draws near, well-heeled Diana moves into her sprawling new London home where she starts to experience strange and terrifying nightmares. Reviews

    • See review from nerdly.co.uk   : " This new 88 Films Blu-ray release restores the blood-splattered slashed neck scene (yes, despite all the madness in this film, stitched up mouths, people burnt alive, another crucified etc., the BBFC took umbrage with THAT!) and also restores all the nudity in the films demonic orgy scene, something that was apparently edited and slow-moed on other UK releases to NOT look cut "

    Promotional Material

Starring The Exorcist's Linda Blair and Knight Rider's David Hasselhoff… Director Fabrizio Laurenti (Crawlers) brings you a creepy tale of terror, witchcraft and sacrifice. When pregnant Jane (Linda Blair) and her family visit a secluded island to check out a proposed real estate deal, things start to go wrong when they come across two trespassers, supernatural expert Leslie and her boyfriend Gary (David Hasselhoff). Forced to spend the night in a dilapidated house, the group are soon plunged into a nightmare of death and destruction at the hands of the powerful and mysterious Lady in Black (Hildegard Knef). La Casa/Witchery/Witchcraft is a carnage fuelled splatter fest, a rabid romp incorporating hauntings, possession and unexpected twists and turns. An entertainingly rare find from video store hay day of Italian made scary movies, it will delight fans of late 80s horror, a weird and wonderful necessity for the cult, camp collector.

Starring Bernice Stegers, Stanko Molnar and Veronica Zinny. BBFC link IMDb
Never censored but played a small part in British censorship history when the VHS was held up at the 1983 Conservative Party conference during the video nasties panic as an example of everything rotten in the video industry and proof that censorship was urgently needed.

    • 2020 88 Films R0 Blu-ray at UK Amazon released on 18th May 2020

    Promotional Material

Synopsis Don't open the fridge! Lamberto Bava was taught his trade by his father, horror legend Mario Bava. Macabre, his first film as director, showed how well he'd learnt his lessons. Still recovering from a pair of tragic and traumatic bereavements, Jane Baker (Bernice Steggers; Xtro, Sky Pilots) moves into a new apartment in New Orleans. The owner's son, Robert, is blind -- but that doesn't stop him hearing what Jane gets up to. It sounds like she's resumed her passionate affair with her lover, Fred. Except that Fred died a year ago... Not quite a giallo, not quite a ghost story and with a final twist that will make you re-think everything you've already seen, Macabre showed that Bava Jr. -- who'd go on to make the horror classic Demons -- was a chip off the old block.

    Special Features and Technical Specs:

A certain ritual will be the living end, he insists. And if you still wonder where Johnny's coming from, try spelling his last name backwards. Dracula is raised into the modern era in this Hammer Studios shocker that's "quite well done" (John Stanley, Creature Features). Christopher Lee dons the cape for the sixth time and seeks out fresh victims. As archnemesis Van Helsing, fellow horror legend Peter Cushing clutches a vial of holy water and edges within throwing distance. Their harrowing battle royal is not to be missed. In fact, it's the living end.

It's the boys night out, time for bawdy fun. Yet revelry alone can't satisfy these community leaders out on a lark. There's still an adventure they can be duped into trying, one that will transform a certain Count from moldering dust into blood lusting flesh.

Taste the Blood of Dracula, another film in Hammer Studios' cycle of hemogobbling Victorian-era horror, is a showcase of why Hammer became the name in Gothic terror. The solid cast and rich production design raise goosebumps of real-life fear and other worldly dread. And Christopher Lee dons his red-lined cape again to become Evil Incarnate. He's Count Dracula. a being neither dead nor alive...but his movies are livelier than ever.

Hammer Films and The Shaw Brothers come together again for an exciting action film! International assassin Shatter (Stuart Whitman, Crazy Mama, Ruby) completes a contract kill on an African dictator and heads for Hong Kong to collect his payment. But when he finds himself marked for death in a deadly double-cross, the hit man is hunted through the seedy underworld. Now with the help of a kung fu master (Ti Lung, A Better Tomorrow), Shatter must take on the international drug syndicate in a final showdown of violence and vengeance! Filmed on location in Hong Kong, Shatter (also known as Call Him Mr. Shatter) was the second and last of Hammer's co-productions with the famed Shaw Brothers studio (The Legend Of The Seven Golden Vampires). Cult director Monte Hellman (Two-Lane Blacktop, Cockfighter) was replaced mid-production by producer Michael Carreras who completed this troubled-yet-fascinating action thriller that co-stars Anton Diffring (Circus Of Horrors) and the legendary Peter Cushing in his final Hammer performance.
