The cinema version and also the pre-VRA video on the Palace label were cut by 59s as follows:

• Linda's ankle being pierced with a pencil (2 cuts)
• Shelly hacked to pieces by an axe (4 cuts)
• Ash tries to kill Linda (8 cuts)
• Ash hitting Cheryl's hand with a rifle has been reduced from twice to once (1 cut)
• Blood shooting from Scott's chest after a stake is extracted (1 cut)
• Cheryl hitting Ash on the head with a poker (1 cut)

The BBFC then removed a further 1:06s for video:

• Cheryl being raped by a possessed tree (4 cuts)
• Ash's fight with Shelly (8 cuts)
• Ash's fight with Linda (6 cuts)
• Ash's fight with Scott (5 cuts)

Examples of these numerous cuts:

• A zombie women being repeatedly hit with a pole has vanished
• Shots of zombies clawing at flesh and eye gouging have been deleted
• A man being hit repeatedly with a hot iron is reduced from 5 hits to 3
• Zombies limbs being severed with axes are no more
• A fight between the protagonist and a headless female zombie is missing.
• The blood gushing from the girl's neck over Ash's face when he decapitates her with the spade has been removed
• Shots of exploding zombies and a zombie biting her own arm off have been removed
• A female zombie being repeatedly slapped accross the face has been reduced to one slap
• A zombie's face burning in the fire isn't present anymore
